This course is designed for individuals wishing to become accredited Sonographers.
Please note, we have limited places in this course. Therefore, please submit your application and documentation as soon as possible so that your application can be considered. Applicants will be ranked and selected based on published entry requirements and their entire academic record. Students can exit the course after 48 credit points (minimum 2 years of part-time study) with a Graduate Diploma in Ultrasound which meets the qualification requirement for accreditation as a Sonographer in Australia.
The final year of the course focuses on developing research skills via an ultrasound research project. Following completion of the two foundation units (SON4000 and SON4010) students must be engaged in supervised clinical ultrasound training practice for a minimum of 3 days/week (or equivalent). It is the student's responsibility to secure their own clinical training placement.

Entry Requirements
An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) in radiography and medical imaging with at least a 55% average. OR An Australian undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a related science or health sciences with at least a 55% average. The related degree must include the studies of "full-body" human anatomy and physiology. Applicants must also have passed physics at Year 12 or at tertiary level or complete an equivalent physics bridging course.

* NOTE : Pathways : Students who want to pursue a Graduate Degree through a particular University but are unable to meet the university requirements for the GPA, GRE/GMAT or English Language scores, have to take up an additional academic and language support i.e. pathways in order to ensure the admit and study at the desired University.
