The Department of Early Childhood Education aims to cultivate competent teachers who are passionate about teaching and child development by providing the a curriculum solely focused on the development of young children. To this end, the curriculum allows students to study theories and practices related to early childhood education. The curriculum is composed of the following areas of study: pedagogy to enhance the essential understanding of the teaching profession, early childhood development courses that focus on holistic child education, teaching methods for each subject, and curriculum management subjects. In addition, in order to develop teaching technique of pre-service teachers, subjects such as early childhood teacher theory, educational service, educational practice, and early childhood education operation management are linked to the educational field to help improve practical skills.
Non-formal, specialized programs are also offered such as employment competitiveness reinforcement program for the development of reflective thinking, teaching practice reinforcement program, ecological education instructional ability reinforcement program for pre-service teachers, and educational volunteer club programs. The department aims to increase its competitiveness by implementing a self-directed learning approach for the students. Students take responsibility for their own learning by planning and evaluating their progress.
