There are 24 prominent faculty members with specialized research areas in the Electronics department. The department consists of 4 majors - Control Robot Engineering Major, Nano-Electronics Engineering Major, Information & Communications Engineering Major, and IT Convergence Engineering Major. The department is leading the global technology development via a world-class educational program for training human resources in the areas of Semi-conductor, IC design, IT-SoC, Satellite and Terrestrial Mobile Communications, GPS information Processing, Computer Hardware Interface, Robot Control, Smart Vehicle, Home Network, Medical Instruments and so on. The Electronics department was nominated as one of the specialized educational departments in the frame work of "convergence of research and education" program funded by Chonbuk National University, which was designed to develop for five years since 2009. In addition, the department runs Engineering Accreditation Program by the Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea (ABEEK).
