The Geographical Science major at Nanjing Normal University is an undergraduate program that explores the natural and human components of Earth’s landscapes and environments. The curriculum integrates physical geography—such as geomorphology, climatology, hydrology, and biogeography—with human and regional geography topics like urban development, population distribution, economic activities, and cultural landscapes. Students learn to analyse spatial patterns and processes, understand environmental change, and assess the interactions between people and their environments. Training includes the use of modern tools such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and spatial data analysis, giving students both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in mapping, modelling, and environmental assessment. Graduates are prepared for careers in environmental consultancy, urban and regional planning, GIS and geospatial analysis, natural resource management, education, and research, as well as for advanced study in geography and related fields.
NOTE: The university may have additional program-specific eligibility requirements. It is recommended to verify these on the official university website.
