The Energy and Environmental Systems Engineering major at Nanjing Normal University is an undergraduate program that integrates the study of energy technologies with environmental protection and sustainable engineering practices. The curriculum combines core engineering fundamentals—such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and systems analysis—with specialised coursework in renewable and clean energy systems, energy efficiency, environmental monitoring, pollution control technologies, and sustainable development strategies. Students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills through laboratory experiments, modelling and simulation, project-based learning, and case studies that address real-world challenges in energy use and environmental management. Emphasis is placed on designing and evaluating systems that meet energy needs while minimising environmental impact, including technologies for clean power generation, waste reduction, and resource conservation. Graduates are prepared for careers in energy engineering, environmental planning and management, sustainable technology development, and related fields in industry, government, and research, as well as for further study in engineering and environmental sciences.
NOTE: The university may have additional program-specific eligibility requirements. It is recommended to verify these on the official university website.
