The Plant Protection program at Nanjing Agricultural University is a four-year undergraduate major that trains students to understand, prevent and manage diseases, pests and weeds that threaten crop production and plant health. The curriculum combines biology, entomology, plant pathology, ecology and integrated pest management with modern technologies such as biological control, pesticide science, pest monitoring systems and sustainable agricultural practices. Students learn how to identify pest and disease problems, assess risks, develop control strategies, and apply environmentally responsible solutions to protect crops while minimizing harm to ecosystems. Emphasis on laboratory experiments, fieldwork and practical training equips graduates with both scientific knowledge and hands-on skills. Graduates are prepared for careers in agricultural extension services, plant quarantine and inspection, pest management consulting, research institutions, government agencies and agribusiness, where they contribute to ensuring plant health, increasing crop yields and promoting sustainable agricultural production.
NOTE: The university may have additional program-specific eligibility requirements. It is recommended to verify these on the official university website.
