The Agronomy and Seed Industry program at Nanjing Agricultural University is an interdisciplinary undergraduate major that combines the principles of crop science, agronomy and the seed industry to train professionals capable of advancing modern agricultural production and strengthening the national seed sector. Students learn core agricultural knowledge—such as crop genetics and breeding, seed production and quality control, crop physiology, ecology, soil fertility and sustainable production systems—alongside practical skills in seed processing, storage, marketing and legislative aspects of the seed industry. The curriculum emphasizes both theoretical foundations and hands-on training in fieldwork, laboratory experimentation and industry practices, preparing graduates to work across the entire seed industry chain from research and development of improved varieties to seed production management, quality assessment, extension services and agricultural technology application. Graduates are equipped to contribute to crop production, seed industry revitalization, sustainable agriculture and food security initiatives at government agencies, research institutions, agribusinesses and seed enterprises.
NOTE: The university may have additional program-specific eligibility requirements. It is recommended to verify these on the official university website.
