Chang Gung University (CGU) is a prestigious private research-oriented university in Taiwan, while the Singapore University of Design and Technology (SUTD) is a collaborative institution established through a partnership between the Government of Singapore and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. The Nano-Electronics and Energy Devices (NEED) program is an exclusive dual master's degree program that confers two master’s degrees, one from CGU and another from SUTD, upon the successful completion of all coursework and research requirements. The program is highly international, with instruction conducted entirely in English, and admits only 30 students globally each year.
