The acting major is intended to provide rigorous, professional‐level training that challenges and enlivens the creative spirit. Students who enroll in this program will participate in an eight-semester sequence of classes that begins with active integration and expands into live and recorded performances. Whether working alongside professional actors at the Nebraska Repertory Theatre, voicing an animated character, performing in a virtual platform, or devising an original solo performance, students in the acting program are engaged in exceptional training and unparalleled experiences.
Graduates will enter an emergent entertainment industry with a comprehensive knowledge of both their craft and the business skills necessary to be competitive in their chosen field. Students will participate in professional development seminars and workshops that support classroom instruction in current professional practices for stage, film and other media.
