The Environmental Science program at Nanjing Agricultural University is a four-year undergraduate major that provides students with a comprehensive education in the principles, processes and challenges of the natural and human-impacted environment. The curriculum integrates core scientific disciplines such as ecology, environmental chemistry, atmospheric science, hydrology, soil science and geographic information systems (GIS) to help students understand environmental systems, pollution dynamics and sustainability issues. Students learn to monitor, assess and analyze environmental quality, study sources and effects of pollution, and explore ways to protect ecosystems and human health. Emphasis is placed on field investigation, laboratory experimentation and data analysis, enabling students to build strong research and technical skills. Graduates are prepared for careers in environmental monitoring and assessment, pollution control, natural resource management, environmental consulting, government agencies and research institutions, where they contribute to sustainable development, ecological protection and evidence-based environmental policy and management.
