The Landscape Gardening program at Nanjing Agricultural University is an interdisciplinary four-year undergraduate major that combines plant science, ecology, design, engineering technology and aesthetic principles to train professionals capable of planning, designing, constructing, and managing green spaces in urban and rural environments. It emphasizes both natural science and applied technical skills, so students learn about plant biology, landscape ecology, garden plant cultivation and application, landscape planning and design, garden construction and maintenance, as well as tools like CAD and sketching for landscape visualization. Graduates develop the ability to solve real-world problems in garden and landscape projects, engage in landscape design and green space management, work in government, private firms, research and teaching, and support ecological and sustainable development of public spaces and environments.
