The Veterinary Pharmacy program at Nanjing Agricultural University is an undergraduate major designed to train professionals with strong expertise in veterinary pharmaceutical sciences, animal drug development and medication management within the broader field of animal health and veterinary medicine. The curriculum integrates core knowledge in pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry, toxicology, drug analysis and formulation design with specialized content focused on animal-specific pharmacokinetics, veterinary drug regulations, quality control, feed additives and rational use of veterinary medicines. Students learn how animal drugs are developed, tested, produced, regulated and applied safely and effectively to prevent and control diseases in livestock, poultry and companion animals. Emphasis on laboratory experiments, drug analysis techniques and practical training equips graduates with both scientific and technical skills. Graduates are prepared for careers in veterinary pharmaceutical industry, drug research and development, quality assurance and control, regulatory affairs, animal health enterprises and feed additive firms, where they contribute to the development, safe use and management of veterinary drugs that support animal health, food safety and sustainable animal production.
