Turf Science and Engineering at Nanjing Agricultural University is an interdisciplinary applied agricultural program that focuses on the biology, cultivation, management and engineering technologies of turfgrasses used in sports fields, parks, golf courses and urban green spaces. The discipline combines plant science, ecology, soil science, landscape design and agricultural engineering to teach students how to select, grow, maintain and renovate turfgrass systems under diverse environmental and use-condition demands, while emphasising sustainable management practices and environmental quality. Students learn turf physiology, genetics and breeding, soil fertility and nutrition, pest and disease management, turfgrass establishment and maintenance techniques, as well as the use of mechanised equipment and smart technologies in turf construction and care.
