The Resource Utilization and Plant Protection program at Nanjing Agricultural University (南京农业大学) is an interdisciplinary agricultural field that combines the science of efficient use of agricultural resources with the principles and practices of plant protection to support sustainable agricultural development. It addresses how key agricultural resources—such as soil, water, nutrients, and atmospheric factors—are cycled and managed within ecosystems, using modern analytical methods, field experiments, and ecological principles to enhance resource efficiency and environmental health, while also studying harmful organisms (pests, diseases and weeds), their biology, damage mechanisms, interactions with environmental conditions, and methods for monitoring, early warning and integrated control. The program prepares students to understand and apply both resource optimization and plant protection strategies to increase agricultural productivity and sustainability, equipping them with knowledge and skills for careers in ecological agriculture, pest management, resource planning, environmental protection, research, and technology development.
NOTE: The university may have additional program-specific eligibility requirements. It is recommended to verify these on the official university website.
