Heating, Gas Supply, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Engineering at Nanjing Tech University is an applied engineering discipline that focuses on the design, analysis, operation and optimisation of building and environmental systems related to indoor thermal comfort, air quality, energy efficiency and utility supply. The program integrates core principles from thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, energy systems and environmental engineering to train students in the planning and engineering of heating systems, natural and mechanical ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, gas supply networks and building energy management. Emphasis is placed on sustainable and energy-efficient design, including green building technologies, low-carbon system integration, intelligent control of HVAC systems and performance evaluation under varied climatic conditions. Through coursework, practical labs and project-based learning, students develop strong analytical, design and problem-solving skills for real-world applications in residential, commercial, industrial and public infrastructure. Graduates are prepared for careers in building services engineering, HVAC design and consultancy, energy auditing, facility management, construction and sustainable environmental systems both in China and internationally.
