The Industrial Catalysis program at Nanjing University of Science and Technology is an applied science and engineering discipline focused on the design, synthesis and application of catalysts that accelerate chemical reactions for industrial processes. It combines fundamental principles of chemistry, materials science and chemical engineering to study how catalysts work at molecular and nano scales, how they can be tailored for higher efficiency and selectivity, and how catalytic processes are applied in areas such as energy conversion, environmental protection, petrochemicals, fine chemicals and sustainable technologies. The curriculum covers key topics including catalyst preparation and characterization, reaction engineering, surface science, heterogeneous catalysis and catalytic process optimization, integrating theoretical learning with laboratory experimentation and research projects. Graduates develop strong analytical, laboratory and problem-solving skills, preparing them for careers in chemical and energy industries, catalyst development and testing, process engineering, environmental technology, and research institutions, as well as for advanced study or research in catalysis and related fields.
