The programme aims to train professionals for public and private sectors in the field of urban, regional and environmental economics, planning and policies, who have innovative theoretical and practical skills and knowledge to analyse problems and relations of economic, social and ecological processes on local and regional levels. Our programme pays particular attention to the analysis of future tendencies (e.g. increasing importance of cities, appearance of autonomous vehicles, innovative urban management aspects, new business models) as well as to their spatial and environmental-sustainable consequences. Students have the possibility to take part in theoretical and applied research projects, thereby to enlarge and deepen their knowledge as well as to develop their international contacts. Our graduated students can establish their scientific career at Széchenyi István University Doctoral School of Regional- and Business Administration Sciences.

Entry Requirements

Bachelor's Degree with minimum 60% in a relevant field from a recognised University. BSc in Economics or International Economics or Geography or Sociology or International Studies or Urban Management or Urban Engeneering or Urban/Regional/Landscape Planning or Environmental Engeneering or Transport are preferred.

Remarks

In case the student has completed his/her previous level of studies in English, proof can be uploaded about the fact that the language of instruction was English, issued by the institution. If the uploaded document(s) do(es) not meet the above-mentioned requirements, the University relies on an online language interview. Deadline to complete the tuition fee payment: 15 July 2026. Deadline for requests of a full refund: before the enrolment deadline. According to the planned timetable of the 2026/27 academic year, provisionally 28 August 2026. (Finalisation of the date is expected in March 2026.)
