The Korean Language Course at Sogang University is provided by the Sogang Korean Language Education Center (KLEC), one of Korea’s most respected programs for international learners of Korean, established in 1990 to promote the language and culture worldwide. The center offers semester-based courses four times a year (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter), each typically lasting about 10 weeks with around 200 hours of instruction, held Monday through Friday. The curriculum emphasizes practical communicative ability, especially spoken Korean, with more than half of class time devoted to speaking, while also developing listening, reading, and writing skills using the center’s own “Sogang Korean” textbooks covering Levels 1 – 6, and sometimes advanced options.
NOTE: The university may have additional program-specific eligibility requirements. It is recommended to verify these on the official university website.
