The BS degree program in gender, women and sexuality studies is an interdisciplinary academic program. Students examine the cultural and social construction of gender; explore the history, experiences and contributions of women to society; and study the influences of gender at a micro and macro level.
Consistent with the university's design imperatives of social embeddedness and use-inspired research, the program's course offerings, research initiatives and cocurricular programs further the understanding of women and gender and promote social justice. Students gain a solid knowledge base and educational foundation as well as the critical thinking skills necessary for dealing with changing gender roles in society.
