Kindai University – Asian Pacific Studies is offered as part of the Faculty of International Studies at the Higashiosaka (Osaka) Campus, where students explore the Asia-Pacific region from cultural, social, economic, and international perspectives. Within this faculty, students in the Global Major or East Asia Major build strong language skills, including a required one-year study abroad, and then choose specialized coursework in areas that often include Asian Studies/Asian Pacific topics, global issues, and intercultural communication. The curriculum emphasizes understanding regional dynamics, foreign languages, and practical global competencies to prepare graduates for careers in international relations, global business, governments, NGOs, and other fields requiring deep knowledge of Asia and the broader Pacific context. While there isn’t a separate standalone Asian Pacific Studies department, the focus on the region is embedded in international studies electives and specialization tracks that give insights into politics, society, and culture across the Asia-Pacific.
NOTE: The university may have additional program-specific eligibility requirements. It is recommended to verify these on the official university website.
